Use of Mental Health Services by Children With Mental Disorders in Two Major Cities in Brazil
The High Risk Cohort Study, a community study conducted in São Paulo and Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 2010 and 2011, analyzed data of 651 children with mental disorders, and found out that 81 percent of them had not received mental health treatment in the past. The study concluded that the high rate of unmet need should be addressed with strategies to improve access to health care.
